November 2025: Response to Food Crisis

2025.12.01 - NEWS RELEASE: Westminster Rescue Mission Secures $187,000 in Funding and Food DonationsLocal Family Challenges Others to Support Carroll’s “Faces of Hunger”

2025.11.14 -Maryland SNAP Benefits to Resume at 100% November 18

The federal government reopened November 12 after a 43 day shutdown, but the ripple effects of the funding lapse continue to be felt as government employees recover their financial footing, contractors grapple with reduced or no backpay, and SNAP recipients navigate impacted family finances complicated by the shutdown as well as, for many, new benefit restrictions that went into effect November 1, 2025. We will continue to work with our upstream and downstream partners to maximize to the best of our ability the amount of food distributed to our partner pantries to meet the demand that was already on the rise and exacerbated by the shutdown and ongoing benefit reductions.
